Must-Have. Vitamin C Face Serum.
Skin feeling a little dull and in need of a pick-me-up? Enter Vitamin C. The superhero of skincare ingredients. Not only does it help brighten the skin and fade dark spots, but it also boosts collagen production, leaving you with plump, youthful-looking skin. It's your instant glow in a bottle. A daily dose of sunshine for your skin. (Ok, I'll stop there! But you get the gist).
How to Incorporate Vitamin C into Your Skincare Routine
STEP 1
Use in the morning.
STEP 2
IF your skin is feeling soft and smooth and has been cleansed, you're good to go ahead and apply a couple of drops of Vitamin C Serum into the palm of your hands, rub them together gently to warm up the product and then gently massage into your skin. I tend to focus on my high points of my face first (i.e. forehead, nose, cheekbones) and then ensure it's worked in, all the way down to my neck and chest.
STEP 3
IF your skin feels a little rough and needs to be exfoliated, ensure you exfoliate first to help the serum penetrate better.
STEP 4
Follow up with your favourite moisturiser.
Remember, consistency is key when it comes to skincare. So, make sure to incorporate your Vitamin C serum into your daily routine for best results. But, you do see a difference straight away with this serum. It's great if you're looking for a quick pick-me-up to fake a good night's sleep.
My Top 3 Vitamin C Face Serums
1. Glossier Super Glow Vitamin C + Magnesium Face Serum: This is my daily go-to. It's a lightlweight serum and it's formulated with 5% Vitamin C and magnesium PCA. The two team up to even out your skin tone, improve the appearance of dark spots and replenish moisture for recharged, refreshed and naturally glowy skin. I get loads of comments when using this. It's usually 'you're looking really well and rested'. This one's £34 and worth it in my opinion.
2. INKEY List 15% Vitamin C + EGF Serum: A high-strength brightening serum powered by 15% Vitamin C & EGF. Targets hyperpigmentation, evens skin tone, and revives dull, tired skin. You'll instantly see a brighter, healthier looking complexion, and it's only £15 for a 30ml. Bargain.
3. Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum. This little gem has a reputation for brightening dark spots. If you're also noticing dark marks, dullness or discolouration, this one's for you. If you prefer a slightly creamier texture, then opt for this. It's non-greasy too! Slightly higher on price, a 30ml starts from £70.
4. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic: This vitamin c serum is highly rated in the beauty industry. It evens out pigmentation and fights against environmental aging using high concentrations of Vitamin C and ferulic acid. It's great for brightening and evening out your skin tone. Much higher in price though, 30ml is around £165. Ouch.
That was actually 4 Vitamin C Face Serums, I couldn't help myself.
